Farmed Greenlip Abalone
Greenlip abalone are produced and grown at the Group's Centre for Aquaculture at Louth Bay, North of Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. Once the baby abalone reach a size of 75mm to 80mm they are harvested and delivered to our registered AQIS approved processing facility in Port Lincoln, South Australia where they are prepared for our customers to their requirements.
Cooked Abalone
The abalone meat is removed from the shell, in our processing factory and washed prior to being placed in chilled salt water overnight. Next morning the abalone are inspected thoroughly before being delivered to a contractor for retort processing. The abalone are packaged to customer requirements.
Chilled Abalone Meat
The abalone meat is removed from the shell and washed prior to being placed in chilled salt water overnight. Next morning the abalone are cleaned and inspected thoroughly. They are packaged in poly liners inside polystyrene eskies.
IQF Abalone In-Shell
The abalone are cleaned and inspected thoroughly before being placed individually on trays. The product is then placed in a plate freezer and left until a core temperature of -20 degrees is achieved (2-3 hours). The abalone are then graded as per customer requirements, glazed and packaged in poly liners inside waxed cartons of polystyrene eskies.
IQF Abalone Meat, Unbled
The abalone meat is removed from the shell and washed. The abalone are cleaned and inspected thoroughly before being placed individually on trays. The product is then placed in a plate freezer and left until a core temperature of -20 degrees is achieved (2-3 hours). They are glazed and the packaged in poly liners inside waxed cartons or polystyrene eskies as per customer requirements.
